Abstract:
The association between ninth-grade students at SMPN 30 Batam's ability to produce
procedural texts and their mastery of imperative sentences is the topic of this thesis. The goal of
this study was to ascertain whether there was a connection between students' proficiency with
imperative sentences and their ability to create process texts. This study's theories are concerned
with the mastery of imperative language and the capacity for procedural text creation. In this
study, quantitative research was employed. Two additional instruments were used in this study to
assess and compile data on the two variables. Researchers evaluated students' command of
imperative phrases using a 20-question objective test. They also utilized it to evaluate how well
they could create process manuals, researcher used analytic rating scale adapted from Tribble.
The researcher used Pearson Product Moment test to measure the two variables, with the
calculation obtained the result of r-table is 0,565942 with significance level 0.05; n=40 which is
the r-count is higher than the r-table (0,565942 > 0.308). According to the results of data
accumulation, it can be concluded indicates there is a strong correlation between students' grasp
of imperative sentences and their ability to create procedural language
