Abstract:
This research discusses the movie by United State of America Director Obias Iaconis entitled
Five Feet Apart. This movie talks about two young patients named Will and Stella who both
have fibrosis cystic. Fibrosis cystic is one of the rare diseases that exist in the world, who
fall in love because of the intensity of meetings that occur and try to have a relationship even
though they are required to maintain a certain distance between each. First, to describe the
character of Stella in Five Feet Apart movie based on Love and Belonging Needs theory by
Abaraham Maslow. The last is to know the effect of love and belonging needs based on
Stella’s character. The approach that was used in this research is the psychology approach
and this research used descriptive qualitative methods to explain and analyze the data. Based
on the result above it can be concluded that there is love and belonging needs that portray
Stella as the main character in Five Feet Apart movie. There are 25 love and belonging needs
data and followed by agape love with 0 data, Family Love with 6 data, next is Friend love
with 5, animal and obsessive love are 0 data and 13 data for intimate love. From these results
it can be conclude that the most dominant data is intimate love and the effect for love and
belonging needs for Stella was good for her future.
