Abstract:
This study aims to evaluate the effect of implementing an English listening and speaking
digital application on enhancing the listening skills of grade XI students at vocational high
school 1 Batam. This study used an experimental method with a pretest-posttest control
group design. A total of 70 students from two classes were selected as research samples,
where one class was used as an experimental group that used the digital application and the
other class as a control group that did not use the application. The data collection instrument
was a listening skills test given before and after the learning provided. The data analysis
revealed that learners listening skills improved significantly in the experimental class. The ttest findings (0.000 <0.005) indicate that the hypothesis testing (Ha) is acceptable. This
research indicates that applying English listening and speaking digital apps helps students
improve their listening skills. The study's findings highlight the necessity of using appropriate
learning material, such as digital technology, when teaching English in order to improve
students' listening skills.
