dc.description.abstract The aimed of this study is to find out students' perceptions of using dialogue in English speaking skill in SMPIT Nurul Muhajirin Batam. The target of the research was 26 students of grade VIII of SMPIT Nurul Muhajirin Batam in the academic years 2023/2024. This study was a descriptive qualitative study in which the data were gained from questionnaire. The questionnaires consist of 15 items that was divided into three indicators related to the students’ perception of dialogue towards English speaking skill. The researcher used statistical descriptive analysis to analyze the data. The result showed, most of students had good perceptions on dialogue. More than half (50%) students were enthusiastic with the using dialogue when learning English speaking skill. Moreover, the students had high motivation and expectation that dialogue technique would facilitate them to develop their English speaking skill. However, the teachers were not consistent to speak English during English class. en_US
