dc.description.abstract The research design was correlational research. The samplings technique was nonprobabilitys sampling with saturated sampling. The samplei in this researchi was twenty five students of the eight grade students at the MTS Hang Nadim Batam. Questionnaires of instrumental motivation and speaking test were used as instrument of this research. Afters tested the validityy and reliabilityy of the test by using SPSS version 20 for windows, the researcheri distributed the test to the sample. The researcheri analyzed the correlation by using Product Moment Correlation by Pearson to correlate both instrumental motivation (X variable) and speaking ability (Y variable). en_US
