dc.description Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara di wilayah Asia Tenggara yang sangat berlimpah dengan sumber daya alam dan sumber daya manusianya. Sebagaimana diketahui bahwa dari tahun 1942 sampai tahun 1945 Jepang menduduki kepulauan Indonesia dilatar belakangi faktor ekonomi. Jepang melakukan ekspansi di Indonesia karena kaya akan sumber daya minyak yang berlimpah yang dibutuhkan untuk kepentingan perang. Jepang menjalankan sistem ekonomi perang, yakni semua kegiatan ekonominya dicurahkan dalam kebutuhan perang demi tercapainya kemenangan akhir (Notosusanto, 2018). en_US
dc.description.abstract Sembulang is located in Galang District, there are local archives, namely Japanese monuments in Sembulang that can contribute to the writing of Indonesian National History (SNI), especially about the Japanese occupation in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to describe the history of Japan in Sembulang in 1942-1945. This type of research is qualitative research. The method used in this research is the historical method. This method is carried out in 4 stages, namely: 1. Heuristics is the collection of sources. 2. Source criticism is the stage of determining the truth and authenticity of the data. 3. Interpretation is the process of reviewing, interpreting the data under study. 4. Historiography is the writing of history. The results of this study indicate that: 1. The arrival of Japan in Sembulang in 1942 as a result of the events of World War II which involved the Japanese War against the Allies. 2. Japan when it was in Sembulang for one year, namely Japan was the first opening in Sembulang, Japan planted trees, and Japan made roads. 3. The impact of Japan's position, namely the opening of Sembulang by the Japanese, the existence of coconut and mango trees and the existence of a road made by the Japanese. en_US
