The objective of this study is to find out the context of Maher Zain’s song lyrics and music video on one&#13;
album. The researcher used Pateda’s theory to analyze the kinds of contextual meaning in Maher Zain’s&#13;
song lyrics and music video. The data source is the lyric and music video of Maher Zain’s song. Data&#13;
collection procedures use the documentation method. Thi research used a qualitative method. The subject&#13;
of this research is Maher Zain’s song lyrics and music video for one album. The results showed Mansoer&#13;
Pateda's theory of contextual meaning. In the first song, "Close To You", there are 10 lyrics that have&#13;
contextual meaning from the whole 41 lines in the song. They are 4 lyrics in situation context, 4 lyrics in&#13;
mood context, 1 lyric in place context, and 1 lyric in purpose context. In the second song, "Let It Go", the&#13;
researcher got 1 lyric of situation context, 1 lyric of purpose context, and 1 lyric of time context from all&#13;
29 lines of the song, so there are 3 contextual meanings from the song "Let It Go". And for the last song,&#13;
"I'm Alive," researchers got 2 contexts of situation and 1 context of purpose from the 31 lines of the song,&#13;
so the song "I'm Alive" has 3 contextual meanings.

The aim of this study is to find out students’ difficulties in writing recount text and the&#13;
most dominant problem that appears in writing recount text of eleventh grade students at SMAN&#13;
15 Batam. The subject of the research was 40 students of XI IPS 1 at SMAN 15 Batam in the&#13;
academic years 2023/2024. This study was descriptive qualitative research. Writing tests and&#13;
interviews were used as an instrument of this research to find the difficulties and dominant&#13;
problem faced by the students while writing recount text. The technique for analyzing the data was&#13;
analyzed the student’s writing results by using Jacob’s scoring rubric in writing. There were five&#13;
aspects on Jacob’s scoring rubric: content, organization, vocabulary, language use, and&#13;
mechanics. The result showed the most dominant problem that students’ faced in writing recount&#13;
text was language use. It showed that the total of students who got fair to very poor was 36&#13;
students. It is because most of students write recount text using the present tense meanwhile, in&#13;
recount text, the students should write it in the past tense. The interviews also showed that the&#13;
students have difficulties in language use especially in grammar. The students only focused on&#13;
retelling their story without considering the importance of past tense in recount text.

This study aims to determine the various positive and negative politeness strategies used by King&#13;
Charles III in his Inaugural Speech. The researcher tries to analysis the positive and negative&#13;
politeness sides and the objectives of his strategy used in King Charles III’s Inaugural Speech as&#13;
Britain’s prince. The researcher employs the qualitative type with descriptive is to analyze positive and&#13;
negative politeness strategies by King Charles III in his Inaugural speech. The data in this study were&#13;
taken from words, phrases, and sentences contained in the script of King Charles III’s Inaugural&#13;
speech that were validated with YouTube videos of King Charles III’s Inaugural speech on the BBC&#13;
News YouTube Channel. The result showed that there are several positive politeness strategies were&#13;
found in King Charles Inaugural speech, and the dominant positive strategy used is strategy 7, namely&#13;
presuppose/raise/assert common ground. The implementation of politeness methods plays an important&#13;
role in a wide range of situations, particularly in formal occasion. This study provides the reader an&#13;
overview of how politeness strategies are utilized and how context influences the choice of words,&#13;
phrases, and sentences towards the other individual to maintain positive relationships and&#13;
communication with the interlocutors.
